Light Market on October 28

On October 28 from 10 AM to 4 PM in Kalnciema Quarter, the Light Market will be held. When the days get shorter and the nights darker, you need to bring extra light into your everyday life, so the market will be complemented by bright luminaires. At the same time, young guests will be able to participate in the artist's Diāna Dimza-Dimme creative workshop for children "Think and create together".

During the darkest months of the year, local traders will lighten Kalnciema Quarter with a wide range of luminaires - different lamps and lampshades, candles, reflectors, and more. Bright goods for autumn evenings or dusky afternoons.

Craftsmen will warm up visitors with gloves, hats, scarves, socks and long jackets - current favorites of craftsmanship. Farmers always provide with the actual offer of autumn - pumpkins, cranberries and garlic, syrups, croutons and honey. A wide range is also complemented by the offer of a Saturday afternoon snack - a warm deer meat soup from, a lamb burger, a hot apple juice and the range of  tea and coffee.

From 11 AM to 3 PM, children are kindly invited to take part in the workshop "Think and create together", headed by the museum's pedagogue and artist Diana Dimza-Dimme. Inspired by the current contemporary art exhibition "The title does not matter" from the Latvian National Museum of Art, and looking at the Kalnciema Quarter, every member of the workshop will be able to figure out his work and give it special significance. Children will work with clay and create a unique, spatial work of art.
